Peruvian cacáo, Hawaiian chili pepper & goat's milk... some things are better left alone rather than blended together, no?

On the face of it this bar would appear to make an argument against diversity & for abortion -- if not extinction altogether.

But based on taste alone, maybe trans-species multiculturalism ain't so bad after all.

Appearance   3.9 / 5
Color: tan 'n biege
Surface: mottled
Temper: schizo
Snap: forlorn
Aroma   7.3 / 10
self-same "perfume" as Mānoa's 66% Goat's Milk Peru but with a little more hoof to it
Mouthfeel   13.1 / 15
Texture: sultry
Melt: voluptuous
Flavor   44.8 / 50
warm mug of cocoa with cream -> pepper creep... zaps the edges of the palate before searing the mid-section... holds a central hot-spot for ages... equipoised between tingling & singeing the tongue -> heats up to a stemwinder of twisting caramel with good cocoa persistency
Quality   17.6 / 20
An exceptional offering from Mānoa.

Dylan Butterbaugh & company deftly reconfigure their prone Goat Milk Peru & add Hawaiin chili pepper to the mix which psychologically keeps the goat at bay.

Small but very pungent, Hawai‘i's C. annuum L. var. glabriusculum pepper is the marquee star, but with a strong support cast. Phenomenally hot hi-wire act. Milk fats & cocoa butter see to that as they both buoy & contain the pepper. Really teases on the threshold all the way around. Propels the heart beat & quickens the pulse to get the blood racing & the juices flowing without immolating the body.

Luv it.

Only one concern lingers with a startup barsmith: can it be replicated?
