The sacred lake of Amparihy in Taolagnaro, Madagascar was where royals spiritually cleansed themselves &, as ruling representatives, the nation at large.

This bar contains enough acidic fruits to disinfect while feeding it whole.

Back in the Naughts when this site first reviewed Soma's early Madagascar bar, it rivaled a construction zone / work in progress. Then around 2009, things changed & Soma upped its game. Same goes for today except now, 62 Batches later, it knows this origin like the front of its keyboard & can pull this off while it tweets all day. Ditto the C-spot® scripting reviews such as these.

In the process Soma, in conjunction with this recent vintage, does away with the flooring & builds what amounts to a citrus ceiling. Very little bottom end to speak of… mostly all upper register volatiles for a rather classic / archetypal Madagascar -- acidulation the keyword for this island cacáo.

Alluring as a mermaid out of the sea but imbalanced as those sirens of mythology.

INGREDIENTS: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter
