From the Dept. of Redundancy Dept: Cacaosuyo adds additional fruit & sweetener as an advertised inclusion to this bar. Given the intensely sweet fruit-tones of its unflavored bars without inclusions, this seems utterly superfluous. And, strangely, almost suspiciously less fruit-centric than those.

A curiosity.

Hmmm, how can that be?
Appearance   2.9 / 5
Color: pinky brown
Surface: air pockets big enough to be that proverbial rabbit hole
Temper: shellac'd then nucleated for good measure
Snap: sickly
Aroma   7.1 / 10
fairly similar to Cacaosuyo's unflavored bars Lakuna and Piura except dirtier / dookier
along the break line seeps jungle tart caramel
Mouthfeel   8.4 / 15
Texture: gooey / goopy
Melt: randomizes into gelatin
Flavor   37.7 / 50
tart entrance sinks into a milky peanut-inflected mush -> yacon swamps the progression for apricot / apple-sauce apparitions
Quality   12.5 / 20
Sweet spam but an educational one for most, featuring a couple of Amazonian botanicals -- camu camu & yacón. The former forging inroads into Northern markets as a superfood like açcai. Its purple-red skin covers a yellow flesh for a combined pink effect when powdered &, overall, very acidic thanks to its vitamin C content. The latter technically a sweet tuber caused by an indigestible fructooligosaccharide.

Together they create a chocolate apple sauce of sorts in a thinner version of Zotter's hand-scooped bars with a fondant construction.

Oddly, they're marginally sweeter than Cacaosuyo's Lakuna or Piura bars despite holding 10% more cane sugar.

INGREDIENTS: cocoa mass, milk, cocoa butter, sugar, milk cream, camu camu, yacón syrup
