Tranquility
by NewTreeImpact
Frankencandy… the type of stuff Japanese stores sell next to the dharma sutra candles: off sweetness, odd florals, & cocoa powder; yet somehow - amazingly - it all cancels each other out for a freak display of chemical sleight-of-hand & a mind-melt set for eastern mysticism.
Appearance 4.7 / 5
Color: | rich warm brown visuals |
Surface: | overall great finish; slightly splotched |
Temper: | semi-flat |
Snap: | beckons |
Aroma 6.8 / 10
plastic scents of the Halloween bag - mentholated citrus cut by crème fraiche funk - counting the spoils among the must of the old lady on the bus
Mouthfeel 8.8 / 15
Texture: | gummy then watery |
Melt: | lazy twitch & uneven dispersal |
Flavor 39.7 / 50
lavender blossom chased by limes -> caramel kick -> wax catches up -> herbs infuse back in for lavender-scented candle -> yields to a mish mosh of flavors, chemicals, sugars &, oh yeah, some chocolate in there -> clean-soap bottom
Quality 13.8 / 20
The base elements all cheap & tatty: deneutered cocoa, cold sorbital sweet, dried potpourri - right up there with Easter candy. Intensely all negative; a confabulation of woes & amplified sense of narcissistic self that loses its valence to the canceling FXs of alchemy.
