Naga
by VosgesImpact
Ever the darling of the new era chocophile, Vosges in truth really represents the manatees on South Park during the Cartoon Wars episode: they have ‘idea balls’ but nothing else.
Naga is Vosges-speak for ‘nada’ (translated as 'nothing' for those Red States yet to be re-invaded by now Spanish-speaking natives).

Color: | Cadbury brown |
Surface: | soft plate finish w/ “Goddess” imprinted on the face (Vosges - do not market this in the bible belt) |
Temper: | waxen |
Snap: | non-existent (somewhat odd for a high % milk) |
Aroma 7.6 / 10
candy sweet & paraffin -> lilting white pepper & hush of curry
Mouthfeel 10.2 / 15
Texture: | grainy on the tongue & teeth |
Melt: | respectable commercial quality; fast & clean, though w/ chemical after-burn |
Flavor 16.4 / 50
dirty Milk Choc -> curry hits the upper sinus cavity rather than the hard palate & comes off ginger w/o the burn -> odd chemical aftertaste
Quality 7.1 / 20
More mouth-feel than flavor, instantiated by coconut texturally there but taste-wise absent. No chocolate structure to profile, no roast notes, no complexity, depth, etc. Basically Santa Claus chocolate overruns mixed with condiments, poured into bar form. This company needs to start work on a better base couverture before playing anymore.
