Chocolate Psy-ops.
In The Cave, Plato describes a group shackled inside it, with a fire at their back. They see only shadows cast upon a wall by the people walking behind them. They mistake shadows for reality. To see things as they truly are, they must be unshackled & make their way outside.
Engaged in epistemic warfare, as defined by Stratfor (Strategic Forecasting), means planned operations to convey selected information to influence emotions, motives, objective reasoning &, ultimately, behavior.
A key word in Plato’s Cave — aletheia — (literally, “the state of not being hidden”), loosely translates as ‘truth’. Heidegger’s reading of The Cave stakes a claim that unearthing is a precondition of truth. Truth-seeking then deals with disclosure — to uncover illusory representations that prevent seeing the world the way it is.
In a kind of epistemic attack, this bar tries to pull the hood over the T-buds (T for Taste) in the form of vanilla to mask the truth... for mainstream consumption.
It (partially) succeeds.

it's chocolate reaches for the full make-up kit (sugar, add'l cocoa butter, vanilla & lecithin) & applies it on the relatively pale-faced plain Ghana Foestero [sic].
And to good effect.
Vanilla furnishes a real service in buttressing a prone cocoa while leaving it still quite anemic -- by Ghana standards. Particularly the last couple trimesters of the progression, after the vanilla has runs its course, fleeing that opening chocolate front.
This demonstrates yet one more example of how some barsmiths abandon makeup, occasionally, at their own peril.
INGREDIENTS: cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, vanilla
